Yoshinao Nanbu Doshu Soke gave an interview for a 2009 December issue of French magazine Génération-Tao, specialized in oriental medicine, philosophy and different martial arts styles. Main occasion for this interview was the establishment of International Foundation for Preservation of Martial Arts (Fondation Internationale pour la Préservation des Arts Martiaux) in which Nanbu Doshu Soke has a honorary and advisory role.
The questions posed to Doshu Soke are the following: (1) what does the word TAO (DO) mean for you in the context of martial arts; (2) in your opinion what are main virtues of martial arts and how can they contribute to the society; (3) what is the meaning of this Foundation for you? Doshu’s answers were very direct and full of experience because he explained the concept of Nanbudo as a harmonical martial art, emphasizing especially its ethical dimension integrated in JIN SEI KUN.
